What is the difference between dentures and a partial?

A denture is a removable appliance that replaces all the teeth on the top or bottom jaw. A partial is a removable appliance that replaces some of the teeth on the top or bottom jaw. A partial stays in the mouth by "clasping" to the remaining teeth. A denture stays in the mouth by suction to the gum tissue.
